The Project Lead Jones Microwave (JMi) and Project Collaborator RM3 have developed processes to fabricate next-generation of light-based technologies for telecommunications and instrumentation using common and existing materials such as silicon. As part of this project, they aim to refine and scale-up these processes to: 1. Produce these cutting-edge telecommunications and instrumentation technologies at commercial scale, and 2. Offer these new fabrication processes to other Canadian firms with similar manufacturing needs. These new technologies will provide Canada with world-leading products and these new processes will result in improvements to the capacity, capability, and resiliency of Canada’s semiconductor fabrication supply chain.
