Development and commercialization of low-noise superconducting amplifiers for scalable quantum computing

Development and commercialization of low-noise superconducting amplifiers for scalable quantum computing

Project

In this project, Qubic plans to develop and commercialize disruptive cryogenic superconducting amplifiers that significantly reduce heat dissipation, a key barrier to scaling superconducting quantum computers. With the support of FABrIC, Qubic and collaborators will develop an innovative rapid fab-to-lab prototyping chain. This approach will enable cost-effective development of the fabrication processes to reliably produce superconducting amplifiers made from niobium-alloy films. This project will drive Canadian innovation by developing disruptive quantum amplifiers for the growing quantum computing market. It will create and retain highly skilled jobs, train future quantum and semiconductor professionals, and enhance the national security and resiliency by supplying critical amplifier products from a trusted Canadian source.

"Qubic’s cryogenic amplifier technology developed in this project strengthens and expands Canada’s semiconductor supply chain by introducing advanced cryogenic and quantum-specific components, filling a crucial gap in the ecosystem and positioning Canada as a key strategic supplier for this niche on the world stage."

Qubic

Qubic harnesses the power of quantum technologies and advanced materials to push the boundaries of microwave signal detection and processing for demanding applications. Our systems operate at the quantum limit, delivering unmatched performance in accuracy, data security, and thermal efficiency. From higher-fidelity qubit readout to more accurate radar imaging and more secure wireless communications, Qubic ensures extreme sensitivity and uncompromising reliability, even in the most demanding environments where conventional solutions reach their limits.

Qubic’s next-generation quantum solutions eliminate noise, amplify sensitivity, and ensure unmatched accuracy of signal transmission and detection. Our technology ensures resilient communications and optimal security, even in the most extreme conditions. Based in Sherbrooke and Waterloo, Qubic combines the strength of two of the world’s largest quantum technology hubs. We are developing a new quantum technology of microwave transmitters and receivers for telecommunications and remote sensing
