Jabil Photonics Facility Tour

Join Jabil for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at its Ottawa photonics facility in Kanata, Ontario.
The tour will begin with a brief introduction to Jabil’s photonics capabilities and its role in advanced packaging and manufacturing. Participants will then be guided through the facility’s fabrication and packaging areas, with opportunities to view key equipment and observe cleanroom operations from designated viewing areas.
Attendees will gain insight into the technologies, processes, and expertise that support the development and high-volume manufacturing of advanced photonic solutions serving global markets.

Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC) & Quantum and Nanotechnologies (QN) Research Centre
Join a combined tour of two leading-edge facilities housed within the same building at NRC
Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre (CPFC)
CPFC is a pure play III-V foundry specializing in process development expertise for InP and GaAs compound semiconductor devices. CPFC’s professional foundry services enables clients to bring highly differentiated and competitive products to market.
- CPFC will present its capabilities and capacities to act as a trusted supply chain partner for compound semiconductor wafer services.
- During the CPFC tour, visitors will see the full compound semiconductor wafer manufacturing process line.
- Visitors will see commercial metalorganic chemical vapour deposition reactors used to grow epitaxial wafers, as well as wafer processing tools such as ASML i-Line steppers and electron-beam lithography equipment.
Quantum and Nanotechnologies (QN) Research Centre
The Quantum and Nanotechnologies (QN) Research Centre works with Canadian and international stakeholders and clients to advance science, accelerate and de-risk innovation and promote equity, diversity and inclusion throughout the innovation ecosystem.
- QN will present its capabilities which enable the maturation of novel quantum and photonic technologies from concept to demonstration.
- During the QN tour, visitors will see the Advanced Technology Fabrication (ATF) facility, quantum labs, and photonic characterization labs.
- The ATF is a highly agile, prototype-level fabrication facility capable of de-risking, validating, and demonstrating new semiconductor technologies.
- In the quantum and photonics labs, visitors will see a range of experimental setups for the characterization of quantum phenomena and high-speed optical communications systems.
Participants will explore:
CPFC’s compound semiconductor manufacturing cleanroom and operations
QN’s advanced photonics and quantum laboratories
