About CMC Microsystems
FABrIC is powered by CMC Microsystems
Build a vibrant and sustainable Canadian Semiconductor Ecosystem with world-class talent and global impact.
For over 40 years, CMC Microsystems has accelerated research and created a path to commercialization in advanced technologies: microelectronics, photonics, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and quantum software and hardware. It pioneered a national infrastructure that lowers the cost and complexity of technology adoption by creating and sharing platform technologies including access to state-of-the-art design, manufacturing, and testing capabilities. Its training programs have simultaneously created an international network of over 10,000 researchers and more than 1,200 companies developing innovations in advanced technologies.
Every year, more than 700 research teams from 65 academic institutions across Canada access CMC’s services, turning more than 400 designs into prototypes through its global manufacturing network. The result: 400 industrial collaborations and 800 trained HQP join industry annually. These relationships also help translate academic research into outcomes — publications, patents, and commercial processes and products.
CMC Microsystems is a not-for-profit organization.
