Low Volume Prototyping and Testing of 3D Quantum Chips

Low Volume Prototyping and Testing of 3D Quantum Chips

Project

Superconducting qubit technology is the leading platform to develop large scale quantum processors.  Currently, the most advanced quantum processors have dozens to hundreds of superconducting qubits using academic/prototyping nanofabrication facilities with limited reproducibility and relatively low yield. As chips scale, there is a need to develop new 3D architectures to allow for more qubits. The project proposes to produce and test a low volume of prototypes of superconducting quantum chips with the new 3D architectures. The prototypes will be of varying sizes, i.e. with different numbers of qubits, and provide different features useful for larger scale quantum chips.
