DIGITHO
Reprogrammable photomask for direct writing capability in lithography for Semiconductors
Project
Bringing to commercialization a direct writing technology to pattern microcircuits for accelerating development cycles and reducing development cost. This direct writing technology can be used to mark a serial number on each and every chip. This is the missing piece for bringing a cost-effective traceability solution to the semiconductor industry. This project enables chip tracking and traceability at a lower cost to secure the semiconductor supply chain and to avoid counterfeiting. This technology will be the only one that provides a low-cost direct writing solution while being compatible with high-volume manufacturing. This project will bring a demonstrated technology to a commercialization-ready level.
"To be significative and worldwide relevant, the Canadian semiconductor sector needs to own strategic equipment manufacturers. Digitho’s technology is a strategic manufacturing tool for semiconductor industry. It is a solution that enables AI-chip manufacturing at low cost. It provides fast prototyping capabilities for semiconductor sensors development. And it provides a solution to secure semiconductor origin which is essential in this current geopolitics’ era, for securing supply chain and for preventing counterfeiting. All these aspects will strengthen the semiconductor sector in Canada as well as in Canadian allies. In turn it will help to strengthen Canada strategic position in the semiconductor industry."
